That may have something to do with it, but I'm not sure. Mine is just a
lowly 75 Mhz pentium. One person on alt.os.linux.mandrake  Wrote me and said
that the fix was to boot in emergency mode and edit the rc.sysinit script in
etc/rc.d.  He said to comment out the optimizations for the hard drives near
the bottom of the script and that would solve the problem. I haven't tried
it yet, but will let you know.
