I have always been a huge fan of ReiserFS, but I also like XFS, but lately I have been using EXT3 for everything..
There is a site online, I think the guys name is Rainer Link (I think) and he works for SUSE. and he has a site about getting speed out of EXT3, and how to turn options on and off for their various uses... He has some benchmarks that show when this is done intelligently, it yeilds performance compariable to Reiser and XFS.
