Is it safe to assume that BOTH machines have EXACTLY the same BIOS settings? I'd re-install - and make it very minimal with the least amount of servers, services and the likes. See if you can get anywhere with that. Also, choose a generic NVidia driver and do the GeForce drivers AFTER you've successfully booted and configured the machines.
