When I first checked out OOwriter, I found that a default language had yet to be set. Curious. So I set it US English. Spell checking still wasn't working.
I checked if MySpell was installed. Sure enough, but Canadian English. WTF?! I didn't do that. So I installed US en package. Still didn't work. So I uninstalled the Canadian English--bingo! Spell checking is working. I wonder if others have experienced the same thing?
