When sending emails to lists and for general use, yes text only is acceptable and actually how it should be. This is NOT so for many family and friends that are spread the world over. Being able to dress up your letters and send pictures inline (so you can explain the photo) is a big thing and cannot be ignored. Between family and friends this is acceptable. You may have no use for HTML but others do have a valid desire to. That is why I want to write mail in HTML form.
