Here's some suggestions for rar. If you want to extract a file using the
CLI you must enter the path to the file as it was archived.  In order to
get an idea about that all you have to do is

rar t unknown_archive-001.rar > manifest.txt

You can do the "l" command (list) but it pumps out alot of stuff you
prob won't need.

After that you can search manifest.txt and see how the files are stored
and then extract using the file path and name you discovered as the last
qualifier.

rar e archive-001.rar  brink/tmp/download/example.rpm

The e command will put the archive in your current dir without the path,
the x command will recreate the stored path completely at your current
position. X I use quite alot for recreating home directory structures
from backup to new MDK installs.
