If this proposition goes through, and it is accepted by the Commission (which has the real power), the situation here in Europe will be pretty much the same as in the U.S. : everybody - well, mainly big corporations - can patent everything, thus reducing the market for small and midsize companies. A paradise for lawyers. As I said recently : We Europeans will stop working and make our living from litigation.
