To change the permissions, you would need to be logged in as root or su'd as root. But, if you could do that, you would be able to copy the folder. Assuming you have the root password, you can always hold down alt + ctrl + F1 (or F2 or F3, etc. to F6) to start a new tty session and log in as root and then copy the files. Hit exit to logout and then alt + ctrl + F7 to return to your X-window session.

p.s. it is a real security issue to chmod /usr/share!!!
