Mike: You've just achieved a milestone: This is the first time that I've ever heard someone complain that a winmodem that works with linux won't work with Windows! My first choice, of course, would be a real modem -- preferably external and connected through a serial port. If you can't see your way clear to that, then why not get a modem that works with both Linux and XP? There are a bunch of them out there.
