Surfing led me to understand that:

1.      BCM4401 nic with 2.6 kernel requires b44 driver.
2.      Distros other than mdk all have 2.6 w/b44 driver.

Conclusion: Mdk makes you stronger.

And since my only prob is net access, and I didn't put in a floppy,
simple logistics are going to piss me off too.

I feel another good day coming on.
