The MDK Server you speak of, is that their specific server distro or is the 'normal' one you can setup during installation of 10.0 ok to use?
[btw sorry the original post was so long....so much info to get across and not enough space!]

Simply put, you set up the MDK server as a DHCP server - so that all the "client" machines are set for DHCP; install Samba on the OS/X box so that you have SMB protocol across all machines (and of course, make sure they're all in the same workgroup); setup the ADSL router for your ADSL, setup a firewall on the MDK server with NAT for the DHCP network - and all in all, that's purty much it.
Nothing "eclectic" about it really - aside from setting up Samba on the OS/X box - but that should be a piece of cake.
The wiki site has heaps of information about it if anything - and you can get quite creative with your network as well - like setting up an internal mail server, groupware stuff, etc etc etc...there is no limit...especially when you're using GNU/linux as your server and backbone...
