I would assume that you would run this 'scanmodem' script from the directory it
is in (hence the './'), same goes for the 'chmod +x scanmodem'. In general, you
would run commands on a given file while *in* the directory containing the file,
and I would doubt very much they are talking about a 'run box', the instructions
assume you are at a command prompt.
