What do you get when you run mcopy? It could be that mtools are not installed on your machine.
Try this - in place of "mcopy a:scanmodem.gz", try "cp /mnt/floppy/scanmodem.gz scanmodem.gz" and see if that works.


If it doesn't work, let us know the error message. Also, let us know the output of "ls /mnt/floppy". Be sure the floppy with scanmodem.gz is in the drive when running both commands.
