What do you get when you run mcopy? It could be that mtools are not installed on your machine.Nope, that didn't work either. All variations, including those on the same hard drive, fail to get past mcopy. Hmmm, could it be since I ran mcopy from a run box that the file is there but the message only says it can/t read the file. I suppose it's worth a try when I wake up again this am. I always fall asleep for another hour after breakfast.
Try this - in place of "mcopy a:scanmodem.gz", try "cp /mnt/floppy/scanmodem.gz scanmodem.gz" and see if that works.
If it doesn't work, let us know the error message. Also, let us know the output of "ls /mnt/floppy". Be sure the floppy with scanmodem.gz is in the drive when running both commands.
