I have an Actiontec 56k call waiting pci modem (lucent chipset) and it requires you to
setserial and include the uart speed and port and irq... I notice faster downloads in
linux than in windose not necessarly faster connect speed but bit per sec faster
I have now installed (reinstalled after reformating and testing) mandrake
7.0 about fifty times.. (so shoot me... it is a learning experence anyway...
I got no real reason to have all this computing power anyway....) I must say
that the graphic install is not as "intutive" as I had hoped, and strongly
recomend installing the "whole enchalada" ..every package on the cd.. I
think I got about 1558megs and as expert. I have used the server install
since samba, ipchains, MAsq, Apache, etc. are what I decided I wanted to
learn to setup and run in my home network... I don't have it all running yet
in linux.. I have managed to get the sound blaster awe64 working setup
after starting to a console and runnning sndconfig.. still reading for the
