[newbie] samba

Hi!
I have an NT server and some NT workstation, i'm planning to switch to 
linux, but i should matser it first, then let the others use it!
Therefore i still use the NT server and some nt workstations!
will samba allow the other NT workstations and server access my linux files?
must my pc be the linux server ? may i print in the nt shared printer?
