You can edit the file /etc/X11/XF86Config  (if you are using Xfree 3.x.x)
or  /etx/X11/XF86Config-4  (for XFree 4.x.x)  and set up any monitor
parameters you please.

Did you try the Sis Driver?
Available at http://www.sis.com/support/driver/linux.htm

There are video and audio drivers there.
