Personally, I would say the 500MB is a better bet. As your disk space increases, your swap does not, that is my impression and what I gather from others.

I'm about to install Fedora Core 3, and I have 50GB to work with. How much should I allocate for the various mount points? I have heard that 500MB for root is more than I'll ever need; some say to use ~2GB for swap, etc.
Let me know what you think!

Nicholas
