[25] Get it right FA?
---------------------------------
Posted Thursday, November 23, 2000 by bar-knee:
On the FA response to coin throwing on the previous news item, the FA isquoted thus:

>>>In reference to your e-mail concerning the coin throwing incident in Saturday's
>derby game, I agree with your comments, and can categorically state that The F.A.
>condone completely the actions of those supporters<<<

Our reader was sent an e.mail which said "condone" and not "condemn"? Amazing faux
pas!. Can't they even get the terms of words in a letter right!

We know which high up personality at United says don't trust the FA...and you'll
recall we gave you the details to contact them about the coin throwing incident.

One RN reader just had the following reply from the FA...

"In reference to your e-mail concerning the coin throwing incident in
Saturday's derby game, I agree with your comments, and can categorically state that
The F.A. condone (shurely shome mishtake) completely the actions of those supporters.

At the game itself, Manchester City had one supporter that their stewards could
identify arrested and thrown out of the ground, and another supporter has been banned
for life from Maine Road for making offensive gestures to David Beckham.

We appreciate that there was more than just one person throwing coins, and we are
currently in talks with Manchester City, to obtain their response to these incidents.

Prior to this match, Manchester City have had a good record in terms of crowd
behaviour, but we are adamant that such incidents should not become commonplace at
English football grounds.

I hope that this helps to answer your query, and appreciate that we are investigating
this matter with the co-operation of Manchester City Football Club.

Customer Relations Unit"

AS we have said, good record - Spurs in the FA Cup with the pitch invasion? And can
you imagine how the SPS would be if it were at Utd, so how can the stewards at City do
an Arsene Wenger and not spot anything?
