I was just thinking that you are planning to keep this one around for a long
time to come.

Points ignitions suck, they constantly need to be re-adjusted because they
wear down and change the dwell. For the cost of a few points/condenser sets
you can get the electronic ignition set and never have to fool with them
again. You will get a stronger more consistent spark as well. As for the
Regulator Rectifyer, that is the single most prominent weakness of that
bike. If you are going to keep it long term you will either replace it now,
or replace it with a new stator as well down the road. Personally I'm for
preventitive maintenance, it saves me the aggrivation of being stuck on the
side of the road, thats worth $100 to me.

I'm hoping next year to get my hands on a GS too (got a note on the VFR
right now).
