My inline filter got caught on the engine and pinched the fuel line. Leaving me stranded on the capitol beltway. It was soon replaced with a new OEM replacement line.. Sent via BlackBerry by AT&T

There should be the main line from the bottom of the petcock to the carb for fuel, and then a small vacuum line from one of the carbs to the petcock to open the valve while the engine is running. There will be another fitting on the petcock as a vent, nothing hooks up to this. I've also had poor experiences with inline fuel filters. Finding one small enough is a trick, and they deform after a while and begin to leak. As long as the filters in your petcock are alright you shouldn't need one. -Kyle On Mon, Apr 23, 2012 at 1:53 PM, Joey Kelley <[email protected]> wrote: > Fred, > The petcock has an internal filter that unless ripped or > suffering from other damage will only interrupt fuel flow and cause > issues with fuel starvation. > If your petcock and tank are in relatively good shape - you > probably don't need it. > -Joey > > On Mon, Apr 23, 2012 at 2:49 PM, Fred <[email protected]> wrote: > > Hi Guys > > > > I want to put a gas filter on my 1986 Nightgawk 450. > > Any information that I get will be appreciated.
