I don't think any one has idea with the metrics.
Actually, I feeling is, if you hire a noder, most likely he is professional
/ an expert in his domain. Because I think being a true node.js developer,
he has to know the particular domain (e.g. http, or socket.. or other
stuff) inside out.

I have worked in a project that involved Single sign on and remote
connection (e.g. google recapcha) .  I think something similar like that
covers a number of domains.

I think a good deployment plan and a good coding structure are important to
remove obstacles.

Numbers.   That's what I did.  Show him what Node can do under load,
compare to PHP or Python.   Show how much more request it can deal with.
 Show how easy it is to bring up and down the node (like in Amazon
instance).
Don't show him the code. mostly likely your prototype is messy. LOL
ya.. show the numbers.
