You can also use Carla to load SFZ files.  I've tried it before and it
seems to work, though I've yet to use it for a major project.  It uses
linuxsampler under the hood I'm told...hmmmmmm...does that mean it can load
gig files too?  I don't have any gig files but it might be worth trying or
asking a question on the kxstudio forums.
