Granted, it's for an Intel NIC, but as none of us know what OS the client
has, it is the best I have right now.  May be driver-related.  Try just
using the MS-supplied drivers for the 3com.  They work fine for us, and
practically all of our systems have the 905's or 920's (905 compatible).

Do you have reservations on your DHCP server?  If so, was this one of them?
Did the error start occuring before or after changing the network card on
the client?  Anything else change on the client other than what you have
mentioned?

I have changed drivers, cables, and nics (same type of nic, just new
one)

This machine has a 3Com EtherLink 10/100 PCI (3C905C-TX) installed in it.
Using the driver from 3Com version 4.31.0.0 dated 8-13-2002.
