My ConTeXt book needed on my old Mac more than an hour though (instead

maybe font re-caching but even then, 12 min -> one hour is very unusual,
maybe 5 runs ... even then, 12 minutes is a lot (ok, an old mac ...)

gives some more info about how much time is spend on a page (here i have
that in cont-loc.mkxl)
Did you re-enable traditional TeX ligatures like -- ?
\date doesn’t understand yyyy any more.
hm, i don't think something changed ... maybe wolfgang knows
\barcode seems to have lost the ability to generate ean13 with
extensions (ean13+5, 13+2).
i did change something after the discussion on the list and irr you
mentioned that this worked
