Do exactly what it tells you... Stop the ntop service.
 
Then, follow the instructions in docs/FAQ on running the Win32 app from the console and - as described in docs/1STRUN.txt - use the -A option to set the password.

Burton thanks for answering my question.
 
I am a beginner in using this so please jus bare me asking you all the simple questions. Well you told me to run ntop from the console window. However I did open the console window privided by the ntop 3.0 demo version.  However it said
   " Under you version of Windows, ntop is started as a service. Please open the services control panel to start/stop ntop or type ntop/h to see all the available options.
 
If anyone is aware of the solution for this problem that would be great.  Thanks
