I take William's point re: the School, and admit I was not aware of
that. I don't doubt that lots of people did make cell phone calls as
well. I would have. That's what makes it all seem strange to me. This
type of attack has never been executed before. In the past, planes would
be hijacked, and sit somewhere until demands were met, or one of the two
side took action. Most people onboard would have no cause to think
anything different.

My understanding is that the plane went straight down. Is it not
possible to have the knowledge on where to strike a commercial airliner
to cause this sort of descent. I am no aviation expert, and yes perhaps
I buy into some conspiracy theories, but I cannot see that plane being
allowed to get to where it was going, especially as it was 75 minutes
after the first plane hit.

If you were calling the shots, would you sit back and watch this plane
heading towards the DC area, when it was already on the news that 4
planes were suspected to have been hijacked (on the news mind you, which
is just slightly behind the information the Government has access to).
Would you just sit back, and let it keep flying, knowing it could be
heading for any number of large centres to inflict who knows what amount
of damage to property, leading to who knows what loss of life? Or would
you look at it all and say, these people on this plane are doomed
already. How can we best minimise casualties?

I know it is an awful thing to contemplate, and I am sick from this
whole thing. I am scared, and sad, and am praying that what ever action
is ultimately taken, it does not plunge us into a global conflict,
because it has the potential to do just that.

I am sorry if my comments to this thread have unduly offended or upset
anybody. It is of course, not my intention to do so. But alarm bells go
off in my head when I see 3 out of 4 planes meet their intended target,
and one go so completely the other way, especially after a relatively
long period of time. If the gentlemen on that flight did over power the
hijackers, and try to take control of the plane, they truly are brave
heros. However, if some of the ex-Marines I have discussed this with are
correct, I could never fault the US Government for doing this, for I
don't know that they had many alternatives.

And I guess that the people who received phone calls from their loved
ones
are part of the cover up as well???

Not correct about being downed by a missile unless you're a huge
conspiracy
theorist. Eyewitnesses to the plane crash in PA said the plane went in
sounding "normal", i.e. the engines were running, no fire, etc.

I am probably going to p a few folks off with this one, but think of
this. That last plane went down 1 hour and 15 minutes after the first
plane hit the WTC. I smell a cover up with that 4th plane. My gut
screams at me that the US Gov't decided that those people on that plane
were about to be killed no matter what. The plane was in the middle of
nowhere when it went down. I don't think the US had any choice but to
shoot that plane down, and it is something they can never, ever admit to
either, even if the sacrifice of those lives equaled the preservation of
potentially thousands of people.

Second, shooting a gun off on a plane is akin to suicide. If the bullet
goes out of the fuselage, the plane will depressurize, which jeopardizes
the 'mission' in the first place. Also, I think it would be
significantly harder for these guys to get guns on as opposed to knives.

There is evidence that the plane that crashed in PA had just that
happen.

However, what if they simply shoot everyone first?
