I had no idea, damn.  You would thing with all the advancements in their 
imaging capabilities they could overcome this.  IE - being able to push patches 
to a Deployment WIM Image.

(which may not take long) for official SP1 integrated media from MS.

Aside from that, the link on the vLite site to information on SP1 is more 
depressing than the front page. They say it can be done, but their page that 
shows you how has so much strike-out text on it, what's the point? It this kind 
of stuff that I see people raving about from time to time. But then I get a 
call for help from a friend who used it and has some weird problem I've never 
heard of, or even a more common problem that is now unsolvable because of some 
peripheral DLL/EXE/REG/APP is missing and preventing a solution. What other 
updates won't be able to be applied?

For those that want to use it fine. And I think they make a great point in what 
they're doing; one I hope MS notices. But real world use for people that want 
their computer to actually work should not bother.
