FWIW when I was still doing tape backups [back when we carved our own ICs out of wood plus pebbles and other silicate materials ;-)] I did my "Full" backups not on Friday but on Tuesday. Friday was too often part of a 3-day weekend and the office staff who swapped the tapes was missing that day. Tuesdays are almost never a day off -- just those rare years when July 4th, Christmas, and New Year's Day fall on Tuesday.
