You might check Eye-Mart and pick up a pair of ruby quartz glasses.

Only issue I had was when a direct light bounced off my cornea, a 
steady, heated beam would pierce through solid objects (including 
screens and keyboards).  They'll teach you about non-direct looking.  I 
learned quickly after the family dog took a hit.
