I've had Firefox over 1 GB under "normal" conditions. Granted, I had over 100 tabs open, but that's not unusual for me. (This was also before I learned about BarTab.) I've had Firefox crash because it hit the 2 GB 32-bit per-process limit, but that was because I was trying to download a 4+ GB DVD image and there's apparently a memory leak in the download routines. It's apparently a tiny leak, but tiny times many equals large. Does this justify a 64-bit browser?
