May 28 , 2012

Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge (MNWR) and Montezuma Wetlands Complex (MWC)
------------

     6/9: WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERS and SEMIPALMATED PLOVERS were seen at Benning 
Marsh. A LEAST BITTERN was found at Tschache Pool. 190 SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPERS 
plus WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERS, DUNLIN, RUDDY TURNSTONE, and SEMIPALMATED PLOVER 
were seen at Puddlers Marsh from Towpath Road. 5 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS 
were seen at VanDyne Spoor Road.


Madison County
------------

     6/9: 2 ORCHARD ORIOLES and 3 LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULLS were seen at 
Ditchbank Road.


Oswego County
------------

     6/5: A PROTHONOTARY WARBLER was seen entering a nest hole in the second 
channel at the fisherman’s parking area on Shaw Road off of Toad Harbor Road on 
Oneida Lake. The bird was seen subsequent times later in the week.
     6/9: The TRUMPETER SWANS in the Rt.6 wetland north of Rt.3 have hatched 6 
young.
     6/10: 2 SWAINSON’S THRUSHES wereheard at OttoMills Road north of Redfield. 
SEMI-PALMATED SANDPIPER, WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPER, DUNLIN, and MERLIN were seen 
at Sandy Pond.An ORCHARD ORIOLE was seen at the Rose Creek Golf Course in 
Hastings.


Onondaga County
------------  

     6/7: A GREAT EGRET was seen on a small island from Marble Street in 
Baldwinsville. It was seen again on 6/10.


Cayuga County
------------

     6/10: A LEAST BITTERN was found on Sterling Creek near Fairhaven.
