I would have thought that the Delphi community is pretty healthy in NZ. I don’t know about the North Island, but in the South there are quite a few places using Delphi.   I’ve had a variety of programming jobs with a variety of languages (COBOL, C/C++, VB, Delphi), and as far as remuneration goes, I think experience pays more of a part than language preference. Interestingly, the highest paid job was the Delphi one, because it was thought of as specialized skill.   I use Delphi because for me it is the best tool available. I am now a contractor but I would hope that if I was looking for a full time job, being a Delphi programmer wouldn’t count against me.
