I agree totally with you guys. I think we have a compounded problem though; employers who don't know what they really want/need and recruiters who don't know anything about the industry.
Personally I don't think that will change until more technical people are promoted into senior management (or set up their own businesses). I think this is a real problem for NZ companies across all technical fields...and the government wonders why technical professionals leave the country.
