Actually I believe the best example of this is in that great movie, independence day (you know the one where all the other countries in the world sit around being blow to bits while they wait for the Americans to come up with a plan to beat the aliens). It takes about 10 minutes on an apple (??) to create a virus capable of turning of the shields of all the alien ships and make it run on the aliens pc (which must have been using Ethernet / tcp/ip and no security system (ignoring the fact that the code would even run on the aliens system).
