We had a full MS audit at my work late last year.
Whilst we thought we DID have lic.s for everything, we were about 20
MSSQL Server Lics short. That's 20 SERVER lics btw.
But it was a genuine mistake, and MS just said buy the lics and it will
be fine.
In Chrissys case, they prob. Will do the same there if they did an
audit.
Lets face it, why spend $$ prosecuting a company when they can still get
their $$ by saying "look you have been naughty, but just buy the lics
and that will be ok".
Its win win for them....no $$ spent taking the company to court, and
they actually GET $$ because the company BUYS some extra
lics....hehehe...its cunning ;-)

I think the point Maurice was getting at was that they're less likely to

realize that a security audit will likely get them snapped for theft.
