Agreed; that's the problem. > questions on that poll could well include: > > 1) should we ask Sun to rename the so-called "OpenSolaris Developer > Preview" to a name which includes "Project Indiana"? > > 2) should we ask Sun to rename the so-called "OpenSolaris Developer > Preview" to a name which does not include the word "OpenSolaris"? The only question I want decided is whether the community is ready _now_ to have an OpenSolaris distribution. We can always adopt one or another distribution as "the reference one" at any point. The issue on the table is that someone updated www.opensolaris.org to say that Indiana's product is _the_ OpenSolaris distribution, and that's just not right. It clearly does not reflect any community-wide decision on the use of the opensolaris.org web site or about the adoption of a reference distribution. -- James Carlson, Solaris Networking <james.d.carlson at sun.com> Sun Microsystems / 35 Network Drive 71.232W Vox +1 781 442 2084 MS UBUR02-212 / Burlington MA 01803-2757 42.496N Fax +1 781 442 1677
