Although /me doesn't have time to be a core contributer at this time, I propose that the OGB form an OpenSolaris Editorial Board under their auspices that is responsible for setting the editorial direction of the OpenSolaris website, and with overseeing the creation and evolution of the site's content. Furthermore, the OGB resolution chartering this OS.o Editorial Board should strive to charter it as something that will have a vibrant, diverse and positive vision, and which will strive to build cross-community participation in its composition and consensus in its policies and direction. I DO NOT expect the OGB to staff such a board, nor do I expect it to be staffed by core contributers from any single CG. In order to be effective, I feel that it needs to be driven by a few visionary leaders who are committed to effectively engaging with the community in this endeavor. The authority for such an OpenSolaris Editorial Board comes from the OpenSolaris Constitution: 6.12. Board Committees. The OGB may designate, by resolution adopted by an affirmative vote of a majority of the OGB members, any number of Board Committees, each consisting of at least one OGB member and composed of persons appointed by the OGB from time to time. Each committee, to the extent provided in such authorizing resolution, shall have and may exercise all the power and authority of the OGB in the management of the business and affairs of the OpenSolaris Community within the limits imposed by the Charter. -John
