I posted a suggestion a little while ago about SAN and joked about a CoD20.
My suggestion about SAN checks didn't add anymore stats to the system. To
expand slightly

'The messenger is lying on the hotel bed, semi naked with an elder sign
etched into chest by what would appear to be a sharpened sugar spoon (SAN DC
15 1/2)'

Players make a WIL Save VS DC 15, on a success they loose 1 point of WIS or
CHA, if they fail they loose 2 points

In games such as CoC, Dark*Matter etc interaction is important, a rapidly
decreasing CHA reflects the changes in personality as the players are
exposed to the mythos. A rapidly decreasing WIS reflects how such horrors
can sap our wills.

Obviously, with proper care, attention and rest, the losses can be
recovered. WIL save with additional bonuses depending on treatment on
doctors skill Vs DC 20 to recover between 1-4 points. Critical failure
results in WIL or CHA permanatly reduced by 1.

Just an idea I have been mulling over for use in Dark20 (coming soon).

'For twenty terces I phrase the answer in clear and actionable language;
for ten I use the language of cant, which occasionally admits ambiguity;
for five, I speak a parable which you must interpret as you will;
and for one terce, I babble in an unknown tongue.'
