Santa Monica, CA with about 2.5k in expenses and the day job only
occasionally interferes with the writing gig. (And since I can't stand the
day job, I wouldn't really miss it. <grin> But is does pay well, very well.)

Washington DC with a 3K p/mo mortgage and the day job interferes
tremendously with the writing I love to do (but I love the work at my day
job too & I seriously doubt I could *ever* make this much consistently
writing games . . .)
