Actually, Doug is speaking for himself.  My FAQ I wrote intentionally to 
answer questions which might not be covered by a more "FAN oriented" FAQ.  
When this first started I felt that this was  necessary because there was a 
great deal of suspicion about Wizards' motives.  An unbiased viewpoint can 
be a particularly valuable one in such a situation.  As it stands I think 
the FAQ is reservedly cautious in saying that Wizards has been completely 
above board in this effort, and that it really looks like they are sincere.

So there most definitely ARE reasons for at least two FAQs - see Dougs FAQ

And see the "unFAN" FAQ for the perspective of someone who has never been a 
particular fan of Wizards or TSR, BUT who sincerely wants to see the Open
