My understanding is if you do not want to use the D20 logo,
feel free to make an entire computer game based on the SRD
which includes character generation and advancement.  The 
SRD is released under the OGL which allows such usage.
You will not need to tread the fine line of what really 
is copyrightable (eg. game mechanics).  

Note that there has been unresolved discussion about adding
a clause to the OGL with respect to making certain disclosures
of software that uses Open Game Content.
