Earlier I said: >>I would think this would be a bad thing. Granted alot of the stuff out >thier >on fan sites is of questionable quality/legality, but every once in awhile >you can find a real gem. With the OGL and the D20SRD a compnay "could" >steal >a work and sell it legally perhaps with a little modification. I wouldn't >be >suprised if some of the better fan writers/designers out thier didn't start >taking advantage of OGL/D20SRD material and protecting thier work. >Otherwise >these people could end up loosing thier creations, even if they have no >plans on profiting off og them.<< What I ment to say is that WITHOUT the OGL/D20SRD a company could come along and steal a document posted by a fan on a website. Since the OGL/D20SRD exists, using these things on a fan created peice of work would be a GOOD thing since it would offer a measure of protection against someone else making mony off your specific PI. I hope that makes sense. Now I'm no lawyer granted, but it makes some sense in my mind. Dallas ------------- For more information, please link to www.opengamingfoundation.org
