It's also an "ain't gonna happen" thing. The big companies are way too
scared of bad PR and legal ramifications to do this.

This is the same sort of thinking that stops talented new authors from
sending freelance submissions to magazines for fear the magazines will steal
their stuff. The overwheleming majority of magazines would never do that;
and the ones that do, soon go out of business because the bad word of mouth
means no one with talent will submit to them.

Does this sort of thing EVER happen? Of course. And airplanes do
occasionally crash, but they're still the safest way to travel on a per-mile
basis. Don't let worries about unlikely consequences hold you back from
likely benefits.
