There's only two issues when writing software, and based on what you said 
neither of them apply to you.  The first is the d20 logo, which you won't 
qualify for.  No problem there since you don't want it.  The second is 
making sure the existing OGL'd material stays open.  Since you're open 
sourcing, again, no problem.  Write your program, release it under the OGL 
(and whichever open source license you prefer) and you're fine.
