It should be noted that svg's are a great gateway format for motion graphics type work (a non-trivial portion of our industry). It was a pain to break our nuke pipeline at my old company for intel commercials because we had to constantly resize/rerender floating text panels. In the end we were forced to use AE for sanity's sake. An svg engine built into oiio would make the svgReader nuke plugin trivial.
