Hey Dave,
Great to hear from you, and great to revisit some of this once in a while. We
are always interested in hearing each others' voices.
I suppose it is because it either is or it isn't.
Sports is by nature erotic in many ways, and omnisport is meant to be about
sports. Much photography is also done to reflect the greatness of the build of
the model, or the muscle he has built up. So, pics of glutes or models in
"slick" attire often is erotic, but not pornographic. Some of our members
don't like those shots, preferring sports photography, but we have always
allowed anything that shows off a higly developed, athletic body. Models,
athletes, even pornstars highly train their bodies. An early discussion was
whether to allow pics of bodybuilders in blue jeans, not sporty at all, but
seen all over fitness mags, so we have.
It either is or it isn't.
So we have always allowed a wide variety of masculine pics, not just athletes
engaged in sport, but other great looking males posing and preening, because
they certainly engaged in some sport, weight training, etc, to get them where
they are, and their builds can be an inspiration to us.
Pornographic sites do "show it all" and really, isn't that what many of them
are all about? We have avoided cock shots so as not to become outright
pornographic. We have avoided shots with a star to hide the penis, or where it
is blacked out in some way, because we do have some standards of good taste
after all...
We don't have an absolute prohibition of frontal nudity, as long as the cock is
not the center or attention or standing at attention. So, a picture of turkish
mud wrestlers where one is partially or wholly exposed somewhere in the pic,
or a lockerroom shot where you might question "is that or isn't that?" those
are tolerated usually, but not Bel Ami models bringing each other to
completion. It has been a while since anyone has been put on waivers, but it
is good to revisit policy. I may be the worst offender, with slick or leather
shots. This is because I am lazy, and don't always take the time to research to
prepare posts about athletes or models. Some of this I ultimately do for the
blog, I enhance photo shots with biographical information or comment, but the
groups miss that. Sometimes I panic, and realize that I haven't posted to the
group for a while, so I open and attach pics in some theme, yellow, or blonds,
or slick, or some sport... blame me...
Also, not all of us are gay, not all of us are into pornography, some of us
are just into great sports photography, into keeping ready for water cooler
conversation by following Rexswimguys great articles, or following athletes or
other celebs and models through the pics posted by Joe, Farmboy, and some of
our other members who post with greater or lesser frequency.
Anyone else care to comment? Some of us love this sort of discussion!
As Always, Eric

Subject: [omnisport:28075] Question about Group Policy
Hi Guys,
I’ve been a group member for several years, and have enjoyed the posts you’ve
been making. Always a high point in my day. I have a question about a group
rule that I’ve never understood:
Why are dick shots prohibited? There doesn’t seem to be any restrictions on
cleverly cropped frontal shots, nude except for a hand cupping the crotch,
nudes from every other angle, ball sacs, gay themes, gay kissing, overt
sexuality, butt shots, or even closeup graphic images of various orifices. So
why the no-no for dicks? It seems such a minor thing after everything else is
posted, so why the restriction?
Understand, I’m not criticizing, just curious. :)
Thanks,Dave--
