I don't think that is an openca problem, but rather an
openssl problem.... But I'm not sure... So I'll post a
message to openssl mailing list.
Definitely not, as you do not have problems with demo2 which relies on
openssl-098.
Still it would be interesting to know what openssl people answer to your
acquisitions.

Yes it does. You checked it yourself with demo2 where this patch is
installed already.
