So I have to find an intermediate solution, by waiting for your patch. I understands the difficulties which the sort of patch can engender...
A last solution (maybe) :
Is it possible to explain me easily what you've done to accept UTF-8 encoding in the demo2.openca.info site ? Or would it be too long and boring ?
If I get back all your installation described in "demo-howto" page (in demo2 site) and install it like you, could I use UTF-8 encoding correctly ? This installation would be another intermediate solution, by waiting the official patch ?

encountered several severe bugs in the program text which I have to patch.
More precisely, first installation of the system (meant to be run in the
default LATIN1 mode) non-correctly installs languages related files.
