Is it feasible to take this a step further, or rather work it from another
direction, and remove jrobin from the equation completely. Either modify the
TCP Exporter or write a plugin based off of it, to allow OpenNMS Collector to
send the data directly to an InfluxDB (or other time-series based DB), which
would then front-end Grafana (or any other graphing software you want to
use/write)? This way I have no jrb's at all and all RRD data is stored in time
series based DB instead.

I'm not certain what's to be gained from this other than not having any data
residing on my OpenNMS server, quite possibly not enough to be worthwhile, but
I am curious as this is how I used Grafana before, I didn't know they had a
data source concept (maybe its new). It seems it would be more efficient that
constant API calls?

Thanks!
Mark

This is quite exciting, tried to tackle this on my own a few months ago with no
success. Can't wait to try it out!

All;

It is my pleasure to announce that we now have a Grafana integration available
for OpenNMS 16.0.0 and up.

You can find more details and instructions on how to get started in the wiki at:

Best,
Jesse
