This is why you have udev, right?
I never understood this hal thing...
Why do you need special keywords, while the devices are standard USB
or PCMCIA devices...

For which user? And what happens if you have several applications? How
do you control which do what?

Well... Maybe I am not the right guy to comment this, I don't have hal
installed and use udev and acpid in order to manage my resources and
it is much simpler and efficient.
